Johnny Joey Jones' quote led me to look in the mirror this morning. To pause and wonder about my perspective in life and ask myself, “. . . am I optimistic by choice, or am I optimistic by God’s design. The answer is both!
God gives us free will, coding us with the ability to choose our outlook in life. The most impactful example is in our choice to deny Christ, or to accept Christ as our Savior. Choosing Jesus is not choosing a religion, and it’s not Him extending us the controls over every experience we have in life. We’re simply invited to choose a life with Christ, and with it unleashing His perspective to lead, guide, and direct our attitude towards what we experience in life.
“Jesus, I choose hope, and optimism, and dependence on You for perspective in my journey. Bring me today someone that asks, “. . . you’ve lost so much, how do you stay so positive?” so I can respond with, “let me tell you exactly why. . . !” My strength comes from You, my optimism comes from You, and my outlook in all things comes from You. Thank you Jesus for creating in me the overriding mindset of ‘BE POSITIVE!’ Thank you for allowing me to choose You! Amen”
