Utilizing the Marangu Route, Rob, Tate, and James mountain biked from the gates of Treasures of Africa in the town of Moshi up to the Summit of Kilimanjaro. The terrain varied widely, taking the riders through five different ecosystems. Each night was spent in huts along the route to Uhuru Peak, the tallest freestanding peak in the world. In all, the expedition was comprised of guides, an extensive support team, and film crew totalling 31 people. Rob's wife Debra also accompanied the team and successfully summited on foot. Mt. Kilimanjaro is also one of the famed 7 summits and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.
